Coordination
At the top of the administrative department is someone with the title of or similar to office manager. This person will not only perform her own allotted duties, but may also manage a team of administrative staff on a daily basis. She could also head several departments within a business, ensuring that the staff is properly following the directives of their superiors and accomplishing these tasks in a timely manner. In larger corporations, managers of different departments may have to meet with and coordinate with one another, according to the United States Department of Bureau of Labor Statistics.
