If clause question 請大家幫手
If you do not pay the rent by 25 January 2013, you may be charged with extra fee.
我想知if clause 中表達的不是將來式嗎?為何會用present tense? 是否有其他tense 可用?

No, if clause does not have to be in future tense.
It can be used in multiple ways:
Conditional - If I were you, I wouldn't want to be involved in that project at all.
If in the future tense - If I do my job more diligently, I will have a much better appraisal.
If along with would - If I had performed my duties better, I would not have reprimanded by my Supervisor.

If I had performed my duties better, I would not have reprimanded by my Supervisor.
~ 錯, 應該 passive
If I had performed my duties better, I would not have BEEN reprimanded by my Supervisor.
My Supervisor reprimanded me for failing to perform my duties competently/well.
