If the weather does not permit, the work will be rescheduled.

這是個 Type 1 conditional,你用得沒錯,問題出在 if 後面的 SVO 句。

雖然 permit 本身是一個動詞,而一句 SVO 句不能有多於一個 V(即動詞)。

    但要表達 not permit 的意思的話,因為 weather 是 singular,而 Type 1 Conditional 中,if 部分是用 present tense,所以 not 前面要加 does。

這其實是很基本 SVO 句文法,以 not eat 為例,例子有:

He does not eat. (Present tense,如上)

    不過如果是其他 tense 的話,就不是這個說法:

He did not eat (Past tense)

He has not eaten (Present perfect tense)

He is not eating (Present continuous tense)

    希望幫到你。

我所講的 SVO 句是:「the weather not permit」這部分

    為甚麼我跟你說SVO呢?

    If後面可以是SVO句或一個phrase,如果是SVO句的話(就如你這句),那麼這SVO句的tense就會在不同的conditional下有所分別

    2013-08-05 16:55:52 補充:

    Type 0(表示事實): present tense

    Type 1(表示可能性):present tense

    Type 2(表示幾乎不可能之幻想):past tense

    Type 3(表示遺憾):past perfect tense

    因此,SVO句的文法不搞清楚,conditional這些便會亂了。

If the weather wasn't permited, the work would be rescheduled.

The above sentence is in subjunctive mood hence it should use past tense.

Discussion of findings of error and correction of your sentence of If +cause

Several of the lexical bundles initiating adverbial clauses are if- clauses, with you as subject and the main verbs want or got (from get):-

If you want the work done (as scheduled),get the weather fine.

Be work be rescheduled if you've got a really bad weather.
