Nowadays, parents tends to give pocket money to their beloved children which is far enough for them. There have been some criticism toward those parents saying that it is unnecessary and unreasonable to give such amount of money to the children. However, some parents defending themselves claim that the best should be given to the children in their childhood so as to make their growth happily. Although both of the arguments are understandable, it seems to me that giving the best to children do not necessary means paying a large number of money to the children.

As I notice , many children are so‘rich’ that they can purchase everything they want to buy, such famous brand products as iphone and Levi’s jeans. However, I am worrying about they would not know how to manager their wealth in the future if this bad habit cannot be broken. The cost of living in Hong Kong is quite high that numerous grassroots family find it unaffordable ,so children should learn how to live frugally rather than living lavishly to avoid the situation of output more than input. There are very common that some teenagers plunging into debt are largely due to the lavish living style. So how can we do with this problem? One effective and the most efficient way is to decrease pocket money, and then children will know that their pocket money is not unlimited, they will use it more carefully and only buy things what they need. For a long term, they will gradually develop the skill of managing their own money.

Lastly, I agree with the views of giving the best to children, but giving money is definitely a bad way to make children happy, it will only lead to the dependence of money. Either do they have the skill of managing wealth and proper living style, they can hardly survive in such city as Hong Kong.
