psychiatric hospital - a hospital where people with mental illnesses are treated and cared for.

mental hospital ~ This word is no longer considered polite

asylum (old use), lunatic asylum (old use), insane asylum (old use), mental home, mental institution – All these words are considered offensive nowadays.

The place is also called psychiatric home. Some people don't like the words "hospital" and "asylum".

Calling a person a lunatic, the question itself reflects a very negative attitude towards people experiencing difficulty in their mental state

In the community, they just live in their homes, just like JD's and anyone else's home.

There is no special places to put these people together as in the sad past. If required, they live a living with programmes in and out of their living place supported by care givers.
