A typical Web page (8) LOOKS (look) like a magazine page, but you can use your mouse to click on "live" areas on the page to go to a new screen.

You can (9) SEARCH (search) for a wide range of topics - entertainment, news, sports, computers, arts, etc - through the Web directory. People can use the web to send E-mail, find jobs, order a meal and make travel plans. And the list (10) GETS (get) longer every day!

    COMMENT:

……. where millions of Web pages containing texts, images, and sound from people all over the world connect.

[Subject and verb have to agree in this clause. The subject is “millions”. Plural subject requires plural verb, so the verb connect is used. If you use connects, it implies that the subject is singular. The word "world" is not the subject in this case.]
