chinese meaning of "oxidizing agent"?

i am confused about the oxidizing agent & reducing agent.

A sample of Zn corrodes in moist air.

ask: what metal could be attached to the sample to prevent the corrosion of Zn? Explain.

answer key: the metal is : Magnesium (Mg)

The Mg is more easily oxidized than the Zn.

I am confused the answer, what is the meaning in Chinses for :"The Mg is more easily oxidized than the Zn." ? If Mg is easily being oxidized, why it can prevent the corrosion?

    Mg比 Zn更容易氧化,即係比Zn更容易放電子。

    如果我們要prevent 某 metal from corrosion,意思即係 prevent 某 metal 放電子,

    正因為Mg比 Zn更為 active,它就比 Zn 更容易放電子;

    如果Mg比 Zn更容易放電子;那麼Zn就不會放電子

    Mg ------> Mg ^ 2+ + 2 e- 會進行

    Zn -----------> Zn^ 2+ + 2e- 不會進行

    Zn 不會變成 Zn ^ 2+ ,那麼它就不會被腐蝕!!!!

    Oxidizing agent是氧化劑, oxidize 人地, reduce 自己,即係自己(oxidizing agent) 的 oxidation no. 會變小;它是吸電子的

    Reducing agent 就相反

    Mg的活性序比Zn活潑,所以Mg比Zn更易失電子(氧化作用)

    If Mg is easily being oxidized, why it can prevent the corrosion?

    this answer is not sure,但我估因為A sample of Zn corrodes in moist air,即有水,Zn同水反應,生成Zn2+,它才係corrosive ,在有Mg時,Zn沒有轉Zn2+!

    actually, the second statement can be converted into different "version"

    Mg losses electrons more readily than the Zn.

    Mg is more reactive than Zn.

    Mg is higher in the reactivity series than Zn.

    (the third and fourth are not recommended in answering exam paper)

    one of the definition of oxidization is loss of electrons

    i.e. loss of electrons = oxidization

    Oxygen will choose the easiest element to oxydise first. if you put Zn and Mg together, oxygen will oxidise Zn first
