error：常指與計算有關的錯誤，或指誤解／錯誤判斷；error 比mistake 較為 formal

e.g. There must be an error somewhere on this bill. It is much too high.

mistake：行為或判斷的錯誤，或受誤導而犯的錯誤

e.g. We made a mistake in buying that second-hand car.
