(Given c of steam = 2000 J per kg per degree

latent heat of vaporization = 2.26x10^6 J per kg)

Calculate the rate, in watts, at which the steam cooker supplies heat energy if the steam condenses to water at 100C.

    Calculate the rate, in watts, at which the steam cooker supplies heat energy if the steam condenses to water at 100C.

    先計0.1kg 100oC的水變成110oC的水蒸氣所需的能量。

    E = mL + mcΔT

    = 0.1x2.26x106 + 0.1x2000x(110-100)

    = 228000J

    所以平均功率為

    P = E / t

    = 228000/60

    = 3800w
